This wine was intriguing when we decided to sample. It is a 100% Tempranillo wine produced by Bodegas Sobreño in Northern Spain, in the Toro region. The wine is aged for 6 months in oak barrels.

Finca Sobreño Crianza offered everything we were looking for in a Tempranillo wine, a smooth but intense experience (almost contradictory but hard to explain).

This wine is what we call a great “Reflection Wine.” An excellent choice to drink by itself, read a book, or just relax with your significant other. A great choice if you are looking to talk in an intimate setting or date night at home.

We will have to disagree with the vineyard when they recommend food matches including meats, cheeses, and pasta. We recommend drinking by itself or after a juicy steak. That’s the beauty of wine tasting, it is a personal experience. There is not a right or wrong pairing.

Our Winetification score is based out of 2 tasters that sampled a bottle at 62.5F (17ºC). All tasters reported they would consider purchasing a bottle for themselves, and are looking forward tasting other Finca Sobreño’s wines.
